Mission Statement
Out of the Fog Research is focused on the development of advanced RF technology for the
government, based primarily on HTS and cryogenic technology.
Founder
Out of the Fog Research LLC was founded by Stuart Berkowitz, Ph. D. He has been awarded
two patents and has co-authored over 35 technical publications.
Prior to starting Out of the Fog Research LLC, he was the manager of the RF product group for
Government Systems at STI/Conductus. He has been the PI on numerous programs:
several programs to develop HTS tunable filters; a contract with DOC-ATP to develop 4G
wireless technology; an NRL program to make HTS digital circuits, where he researched
three-terminal devices and high-speed circuits; an Air Force Phase II SBIR contract to make 20
GHz Phase shifters from Josephson junctions; a contract with the U.S. Government to develop
a reliable pilot line process to make high temperature superconducting digital circuits; a NASA
Phase II SBIR contract to develop high temperature superconducting bolometer arrays; and PI
on an Air Force Phase II SBIR contract to make non-bolometric infrared detectors using BKBO.
Staff
Out of the Fog Research LLC has staff that are accomplished in Chain Analysis, LNA design,
Filter Design, RF testing, and packaging development.
